macOS is miles ahead of Windows

• Installers automatically move to trash when done
• Installing is much easier
• UI is much more unified
• Built in apps are much higher quality
• No advertisements
• Searching actually works
• Updates actually bring new features
• Installing the hyperdrive
  • Thunderbolt 4 is wicked fast
    • M.2 is about 50% faster than the built in drive
    • Unfortunate that a full internal drive is super slow but macOS doesn’t do much to warn you, but Windows doesn’t do any better
  • You can just move apps to a new location and everything works, running them, searching them
  • The storage view just updates as you move stuff in real time

Windows is really odd in that its the default platform to build a desktop app, but nothing integrates with the operating system. Maybe mobile OS’s have spoiled me but I don’t understand why every developer needs to build their own update system on Windows instead of relying on the Microsoft Store. macOS has the same issue to some extent but the culture around it is way better.
