  • Ingredients
    • Bread
      • 113 g ripe Sourdough Starter
      • 361 g good quality flour
      • 14 g sugar
      • 1 tablespoon sugar
      • 1.25 teaspoon salt
      • 1 large egg
      • 152 g lukewarm water
    • “Topping”
      • 57 g melted butter
      • 1/4 teaspoon paprika, just for color so totally optional
  • Process
    • Combine all the bread ingredients then mix and knead into a smooth dough.
    • Let rest 1.5 to 2 hours in a lightly greased container
    • Deflate dough and transfer it to a lightly greased work surface and roll it out into a rectangle about 12” by 16”
    • Spread some butter onto rolled out dough
    • Roll dough from long side into a roll then cut into 1” slices and arrange slices into a greased cake pan
    • let buns rise for an hour then brush rest of butter onto top of buns and place into a pre-heated 350 F oven for 22-25 minutes.
