- Ingredients
- Bread
- 113 g ripe Sourdough Starter
- 361 g good quality flour
- 14 g sugar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1.25 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 152 g lukewarm water
- “Topping”
- 57 g melted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika, just for color so totally optional
- Process
- Combine all the bread ingredients then mix and knead into a smooth dough.
- Let rest 1.5 to 2 hours in a lightly greased container
- Deflate dough and transfer it to a lightly greased work surface and roll it out into a rectangle about 12” by 16”
- Spread some butter onto rolled out dough
- Roll dough from long side into a roll then cut into 1” slices and arrange slices into a greased cake pan
- let buns rise for an hour then brush rest of butter onto top of buns and place into a pre-heated 350 F oven for 22-25 minutes.
